Sneak Peek: Designing Our Luxury Nursery Range

Designer: Rosie McDonnell

We are in LOVE with Rosie's designs for neutral, luxurious Nurseries! If you've been following our Instagram, you may have noticed a few sneak peeks we've been dropping - there's been so many questions about the range, so we've caught up with Rosie to fill us in on the two looks!

GREY

First up, we're covering all the need-to-know about this bliss grey nursery...

The overarching look is a luxurious grey scheme, how have you created a cosy & functional look that is still modern?

For this design, I have used a palette of soft greys and ivories and layers of texture . This creates a bright and modern aesthetic that is sophisticated and timeless, a scheme that your child can grow with - whilst still feeling really homely! We have infilled the wall panelling with our beautifully subtle Hamptons Stripe Ivory Wallpaper, which creates a high-end, classic feel to the design.

How did you combine an opulent vibe with the essentials that a Nursery needs?

I loved creating the focal point of the room - which is the crib with the crown canopy secured to the wall behind.

I've used this beautiful velvet upholstered cot which will be available both in grey and beige (plus, they're adaptable - they have four configurations which means it can adapt from a small cot, to a large cot with a removable side, through to a junior bed!). It's a key investment piece that your child can grow with.

Of course, babies have a lot of things! So, a fundamental for any nursery is storage. We have styled the gorgeous white Hayden Chest which comes with a changing station and the matching Hayden Bookcase, which is perfect for styling toys, accessories and care products.

To keep the scheme cohesive, we have layered silver and grey accessories onto the shelving, a silky soft grey area rug and linen grey nursing armchair with a matching footstool. For extra cosiness, we have styled cushions, throws and soft toys into our woven Marilyn baskets which are also great for toy baskets as your little one grows.

What really ties the look of this Grey scheme together?

My favourite extra touches in this scheme are the hanging decorative fabric hot air balloons which are gorgeous hanging in pairs and the gorgeous Milo XL Decorative Grey Giraffe. These are beautiful and unique items which are also great for gifts!

*Decorative bows and a folded blanket on the cot look great for styling purposes only and are not safe when your baby is in the cot. When using a draped canopy, it is important to pin the fabric back against the wall and pull the cot away from the wall so that it will not be a hazard. Please ensure that the cot is empty and there are no hazards nearby when the infant is in the cot. Please refer to Public Health England’s safe sleeping advice when designing your own nursery.

NEUTRAL

Get all of the essentials for creating this gorgeous neutral and gold Nursery..

Did you have a particular vibe you wanted to achieve with this look?

I had pictured a glam, neutral nursery perfect for a baby girl. For this scheme, I have used a warm palette of creams, taupes and accents of gold to create a magical, calm and cosy space.

This design has a really regal feel to it. What are the key pieces that really create this high-end look?

For a truly opulent design, I have styled the cot and our gold resin crown with sheer draped canopy pinned back to the wall. Using the beautiful Meredith Mirrored Chest of Drawers either side we're allowing plenty of storage space to still keep the room functional, whilst adding keeping in line with the glam scheme. These drawers look gorgeous with the Cecelia Champagne Scalloped Edge Wall Mirrors above.

For the look, we've included lots of textures to ensure the space feels super homely & cosy, the Mandrake Off White Shaggy Rug is gorgeous and cosy, perfect when playing on the floor and can be swapped out if necessary. The Nala Champagne Wallpaper creates a subtle texture behind the furniture, without overwhelming the key pieces, but really ties the look together.

Don't forget, soft lighting is important in a nursery! The Melody Floral Table Lamps and ceiling light are beautifully decorative and give a fairytale touch to this design.

What are your favourite pieces from this look?

My favourite items from this scheme are the Louisa Beige & White Ball Pit which is coming soon and the stunning Meredith Mirrored Chest of Drawers which are perfect for when your little one grows up too!

I love having extra space for styling reading books and decorative bits, making the room feel really inviting - so, I have styled two of the Lacy wall shelves with our cream upholstered bench underneath. We also have gorgeous books and decor which makes perfect gifts for new and expecting mums, as well as being great for styling on shelves!
