5 Garden Décor Tips for Outdoor Entertaining

At Rowen Homes HQ we've been talking all about our outdoor space layouts for having guests over and creating a cosy, relaxing atmosphere.

As we get into Summer, it's fab to have friends and family over for some al fresco eating and drinking. Here are our top 5 tips for making your outdoor space as inviting as possible for entertaining.

1. Introduce comfy outdoor seating

Create the perfect atmosphere with some comfortable seating. Throw away those hard patio chairs, and switch them for an outdoor sofa that you can really sink into.

Choose a cosy sofa for a warm and homely atmosphere that your guests can properly relax in. Modern outdoor sofas and chairs are great for gardens and patios as they can help you section off a space specially for relaxing in.

2. Strategically place planters to create an intimate seating area

Using planters around your outdoor entertaining area is great for creating a little more privacy. Use gorgeous greenery both to help you relax and create a more intimate vibe.

Using a raised, rendered planter is perfect to create a boundary. Choose your plants to go with your scheme - evergreens tend to be good throughout the year and create a simple scheme. Introduce movement with delicate plants that have vertical accents, and repeat a variety of this plant at intervals for a modern look.

3. Make your space feel more cosy and inviting with textures

Outdoor cushions, throws, rugs and poufs are perfect for creating an outdoor living room feel. Nothing wants to make you sink into your outdoor sofa more than some soft cushions. Use an outdoor rug to lay out your space and create a warm and inviting area for your garden living space.

You could even use a basket of blankets for styling and to keep your guests comfy & warm later into the evening!

4. You'll always find me in the kitchen at parties

It always seems that we gather in the kitchen at parties! Introduce an outdoor kitchen to your garden to create the perfect setting for some al fresco dining. Your outdoor kitchen will be a inviting space that your guests will love spending time in, making it the most on-trend outdoor accessory.

This creates flexibility for your outdoor space, with delicious fresh food. You can even add a shelter with a pergola for year round use!

5. Cosy up with some outdoor heating

Of course we cant always guarantee that the British Summertime is going to work in our favour. Use some stunning outdoor heating as a foolproof back up as the day heads into the evening!

Your can use a glass tube heater for a super luxury look, these add a stunning visual effect with the visible flames. For a more practical option, choose an on trend fire pit! Fire pits are perfect as there are a range of fuel options, so you can pick which works best for you!
